Move this to another forum so we get post credit for actually helping somebody out for a change, geez.
Depending on the Netgear model you could go with DDWRT or Tomato and crank up the Xmit power considerable-like, that might solve your problem and it's free.
Thank God we're not getting all of the government we're paying for!

I know netgear makes signal boosters for wireless...other then that I guess yer screwed....
