    Extension ?

In garden @ sunny JM Towers ....... But only got this

If I buy a looooong flex & put a out door antenna conected to my poxy freebie Netgear router, will that up my range a bit...... Or will I loose all that RF goodness in the wire ?

My house is like a farraday cage unfortunately, portable radios don't work, forget even trying Portable TV's

On the brighter side, should you happen by & drop some light ordanance on the place you might break a roof tile if your lucky. But please don't as they are hand made were & out of production long ago (See secret stash in JM's garage)

Move this to another forum so we get post credit for actually helping somebody out for a change, geez.

Depending on the Netgear model you could go with DDWRT or Tomato and crank up the Xmit power considerable-like, that might solve your problem and it's free.
Thank God we're not getting all of the government we're paying for!

Someday when you have the time, teach yourself how to search this forum.

    DDWRT
Tomato (just in case you buy a real router someday)

Here's another forum on the subject, check it out: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtop...wgr614&start=0

I'll read up on range boostage ...... I can't see me getting too far with this Netgear POS tho

Don't let that stop ya, this should make for some pretty entertaining reading while you brick a working router.
