    Account change fails-winxp

when a task is running in account 1 and i want to switch to acount 2(e.g. administrators) in winxp this error is showing:
csrss.exe-couldnt start-basesrv not found- new installation could solve the problem.
my problem: it was ok one time on both drives, one is a copy of the other. both have the same issue. thanks a lot

when a task is running in account
    What kind of task?
If you let the task finish does switching user work?

    solved

found out that open window/directory is a task. switching is now running.
    log-out:
what i do not understand is: is it for security reasons logging out from the accounts when shutting down, not switching? thanks

    Greetz..

By the looks and sounds of it you may have a worm/trojan on your PC, take a look in your Root Directory in C:\

Its fine to delete the csrss.exe in the C : \ directory. There may be a csrss.bin there as well, that can also go.

Any other csrss.exe that are inside other folders eg: c:\windows directory
    should not be deleted.

Just delete if it's in the root of the harddrive eg c:\
