    Outlook 2007 Hangs at 75%

A person running Outlook 2007 continues to have his send/receive hang at 75% complete. The settings from the provider (Charter Communications) have been verified to be correct (although changed from a couple of weeks ago). The old settings do not work either. When going into the Charter.net webmail, there are no large e-mails that would prohibit downloading.

I am not an Outlook expert but know a little. I am wondering if a corrupt .pst file would cause this problem. Also, there is not a companion .ost file in the Outlook folder. Any advice??

    Hi,

did you try the test function in the Outlook account dialog? That might help you, it runs a mail sync test with the server.

If you think the PST file is broken, use ScanPST. It's a bit hidden but it already is installed by MS. Try the Windows explorer search function.

BTW, it's normal that there isn't an OST file. That's only there if you're connected to an Exchange server.

Check the Outbox. A corrupted or poorly addressed outgoing e-mail can really gum things up. If you find a message stuck there, delete it.

You can test this or get around it by selecting "Receive All" instead of Send and Receive All.
