    512 or 1gb ?

I'm interested in a ATI 4850 vid card. What's the advantage of 1gb over 512 mb memory?

depends on the specs of the rest of your system. Unless you're doing some hard core rendering or gaming (that requests a higher amount of video memory), the 512 should suite you fine.

There's more memory for textures, etc. but the core engine will still be the same. Unless you crank up all the settings and run at super high res, the difference will be minimal.

Thanks, I'm upgrading my vid card from a 7600GT. My system has a Opty144@2.5 A 4850/70 will work fine until I build a new system, then I'll just put it in the new one.
