A study or model of the past 5-7 years economic results which is based entirely upon regulatory criteria which existed at start - differs markedly from one which mimics the changes introduced by the FASB. The FASB may truly have saved our world.

Surprising capability and performance increases are being brought to desktop computing these days.
Graphics processors as you may know,
have been at the center of an ongoing conversation about the future of computing. GPUs have shown tremendous promise not just for producing high-impact visuals, but also for tackling data-parallel problems of various types, including some of the more difficult challenges computing now faces. Hence, GPUs and CPUs have been on apparent collision course of sorts for some time now, and that realization has spurred a realignment in the processor business.

It is probable that all those able to, will just leave for somewhere better.

Each of our significant economies, in following, adopting or experimenting with modern monetery policies, have all fallen ill at the same time, exhibiting similar symptoms which indicates to medical science the possibility of a virus. It appears that the world economy has fallen to the Bond Bug. (Divestive Bonusitis)

Symptoms include Loss of all added value, winking, empty pockets and bank accounts, endless devaluations, longing desires and justifications of bonuses, twitching, mindless hope, public enthusiasm followed by private despair, sore backs (from slapping), tired shaking hands, 700 yard stares (they were devalued) a desire to travel and aversion to news in all its forms. A cure is under review and best treatment currently available is a large (double) Jack Daniels mixed down with Dry Dider and optional ice. It should not be taken as toddie. It relieves all symptoms of the virus overnight. Do not drive whilst taking this medicine, you may benefit from sitting briefly and lieing should become a pleasant easy experience . Adjust dosage and frequency as required..

The accounting rule known as FAS 157 – which has caused more than its fair share of consternation at private equity firms – has a new name: Topic 820. The Financial Accounting Standards Board is renaming the rule as it proposes additional changes to it, after what feels like an eternity of tweaks already. Topic 820 requires companies to mark their assets to market every quarter, rather than allowing them to be held at cost, as used to be the case. It defines three levels of assets, with Level 1 being the easiest to value and Level 3 being the hardest.

Private equity and venture capital firms, whose companies don’t trade on public markets, are most concerned with Level 3, and it’s this level that the changes would address. Specifically, FASB wants firms valuing assets using Level 3 inputs to disclose how their valuations would increase or decrease if they changed one or more of the inputs to a “reasonably possible” alternative.

In a press release, FASB said that it proposed the changes because users of financial statements requested more information about fair value measurements for Level 3 assets due to their greater degree of uncertainty and subjectivity.

The architect Sir John Soane was fascinated by ruins - as many architects must be, ruins being both an inspiration and a warning ("This is how the stuff you build is going to end up"). In the grounds of his country house, Pitshanger Manor at Ealing, he built a mock ruin, with broken walls and buried columns, and announced to the press the discovery of the remains of a Roman temple. At the back of his house at 13 Lincoln's Inn Fields he built the "Monk's Yard", supposedly the cell of a medieval hermit called Padre Giovanni, but actually some fragments from the ruined Palace of Westminster, ...
