Stark Raving MOD
Bye Bye, Circuit City
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28691963/
Circuit City Stores Inc., the nation’s second-biggest consumer electronics retailer, reached an agreement with liquidators on Friday to sell the merchandise in its 567 U.S. stores after failing to find a buyer or a refinancing deal.
Don't expect any super duper deals. Gordon Brothers, the people that brought you the Death of CompUSA, will be handling the Circuit City liquidation also.

It's too bad really. I always liked the prices and selection there better than Best Buy and the sales people were nicer too. I think it had to be mismanagement to bring them down. More people on unemployment now.

Not after January 20. All unemployment will end at noon and we'll all earn $75K a year working on road projects.
Thank God we're not getting all of the government we're paying for!

ROTFL, OK, I want to be the supervisor. I'll practice leaning on a shovel to get the job.

Oh, haven't you heard? Executives like you are evil and will finally start paying "your fair share" of taxes - 108%. How else do you think us peons will be making $75K apiece?

Unless I am not very good at finding things, there were not really any good deals on anything at my circuitcity... Just got some CD-R's and DVD-R's aaaaaaaand I had to ask the cashier to give me my bank card back.
Other than that... meh.

Nothing worthwhile is ever price cut much at these liquidations out of the gate... but a fair bit of stuff that people had plans of buying eventually anyways, that 10% off can be just enough to trigger a buy. I'm holding out for 20% off before I snag anything... at that point, if there's an XBox 360 left (big if, I know...), I can save enough to basically get the wireless adapter for free... which, of course, should have been included in the base hardware to begin with...

Yeah Steve... I saw that part... I guess I was just hopeful for some pretty decent deals.
