    WRT600N Headache

What I'm trying to do is be able to file share between my 2 wired computers and my laptop running wireless. I can see my laptop on the newtwork, but when I try to access it froma wired computer or even try to access a wired computer from my laptop I get "Windows cannot access" error code 0x80070035.
What am I missing for settings??? months ago I had it working but dunno what I did. one wired computer is running xp, the other vista ultimate, and the laptop is running vista home premium.

Just to throw out a side issue. In this house we have a Telus adsl modem/router n the go which the wrt600n connected to it connecting my three computers, while my roomate has his computers connected to the adsl router/modem directly. How do I access his shared folders and vise/versa? We can't even see each other on the network.

    Thanx guys

Since the Modem is a Modem/Router you have to configure the second wireless modem as an Access Point otherwise you create a separate Network passed the second Routing.

See the configuration principle here, http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html

As for Sharing, it involves some general consideration in Network settings, http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.

Cat6 has the sharing info well covered. Whether it's wired or wireless, you need to follow the same rules.

If you have firewalls, check the settings or temporarily disable them to test things out.

You and your roommate are on completely different subnets, so you shouldn't be able to see each other. Why isn't he using the same router as you? It going to be a much bigger headache to than if he just connects to your router.

I'm in a basement suite, and he's in the upstairs, and he's using a hub to split his internet between computers, while I'm using the the wrt600n to do that for me. I was using a wrt54g before this and worked how I wanted it to, (act as a hub/wireless access point/hub) this wrt600n is a bit of a headache...

Decided, to jus hook my laptop to router via wired connection, still had problems, fixed the simple problem, file transfers worked.. So I thought all must be good if I went wireless again... Still can't share file between the wired computers andwireless laptop.... Starting to miss my wrt54g....
    Any other tips?

It doesn't matter if it is wired or wireless. Changing the router won't make a difference. You still need to do the basic checks. Can you ping each other?

What do you mean by "fixed the simple problem"?

I meant it as it was simple to get file sharing workin via wired connection. and no they can't seem to ping each other when I go wireless with my laptop

If they can't ping each other, then you need to focus on that. What IPs are you getting? You should be in the same IP range for both wired and wireless. Are you sure that you're connecting to your wireless network and not your neighbors'?
