We gots Tropical storm watches and flood watches up now. Could be a bit rough here by this time tomorrow night. Good thing we's on the 4th floor, don't know if kitties want to swim. Dog might have a problem going out for a whizz though

Man, that is good livin. Little bit of excitement for once.

I have weathered a few hurricanes and quite a few tropical storms. The Navy don't run from them. Nah!! The Navy puts their ships to sea just to find out how an FFG can weather a hurricane ( David ). The ferkin storm missed Mayport anyway but they still put us out in the middle of it. Lost the ferkin whale boat cause of that snafu.

Then came shore duty. I rode out Andrew at NAS Key West. At least the ground stood still, unlike the ferkin tin can I rode my first hurricane out in.

I haven't seen rain for 5-6 months, a little rain would be nice, but I can wait for November.

Yeah, lotsa pukin. Boondocker prints on the bulkheads. Nice stuff.

They put to sea for a reason during storms. If hurricane force winds hit ships in port they'd be crushed like beer cans and the storm surge would be something also. Thye Saratoga was in for repairs and couldn't get underway during David. They sunk her at the pier.

Yup, he didn't have to worry too much about storms, he was out of Bremerton/Seattle.

Wish I had another pair of Boondockers, great work shoes those were.

This is just the remains of T.S. Gustav, kinda a warm up for when Hanna gets here this afternoon. Barometers is still dropping and it's a tad warmer now. Need gills to breath though.

As a bonus, in the piccy, the lower right corner shows IKE too.
