    Secure your Gmail with SSL

    Gmail account hacking tool
A tool that automatically steals IDs of non-encrypted sessions and breaks into Google Mail accounts has been presented at the Defcon hackers’ conference in Las Vegas.
So now is a good time to enable SSL on your Gmail account!

Enabling the HTTPS setting in Gmail
To enable this feature in Gmail:

    1. Sign in to Gmail.
    2. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
    3. Set 'Browser Connection' to 'Always use https.'
    4. Click Save Changes.
    5. Reload Gmail.

You could use the https:// option for a while, but the always use https is new.
    Gmail Offers Always-Secure Option

Lifehacker is a good site to keep up with Gmail news, hacks, etc. They also make the Better Gmail Firefox add-on.
