Front Panel Audio connectors - a question

    Gee up,

I'm about to pop a new motherboard in, now usually i dont bother with front panel connectors however ive started feeding audio input from my X360 and it would be much easier to be able to do so from the Front Panel rather than the back.

I've checked the USB connectors and they seem fine, however there are a couple of leads from the front panel sound that seem to be unaccounted for, as shown in the diagram below which approximates to what ive got and how it should all match up:

    Mobo ---------------- Panel
    1 MIC ------------------ Mic In
2 GND ----------------- Ground (from the "MIC socket" wire)
3 MIC Power --------- Mic Power
    4
    5 Line Out (R) ------- R-Out
    6
    7
    8
    9 Line Out (L) ------- L-Out
    10

However this leaves three leads from the Front Panel unaccounted for:

L-Ret and R-Ret and another Ground cable, all coming from the "output socket" wire. I was wondering, as these three arent mentioned specifically in the motherboard manual -- i take it they will be okay to be left disconnected?

    Much Gracias

My manual shows L-Ret to pin 6 and R-Ret to pin 10 and I have no place for the 2nd gnd .

I sure wish they would standardize those connection.

I think its more motherboard specific. Im tryiing to work out what "L/R Ret" could actually stand for, because from what i can see above ive got the two stereo outputs, the mic input (and power) and a ground -- i cant see what else would be needed?

R-Ret = Right channel Audio signal return from front panel.

L-Ret = Left channel Audio signal return from front panel.
