    Alone in the Dark

Has anyone played the new installment for this game? I was a huge fan back in the day when it first came out and have seen some good screen/movies of the game, I haven’t seen a post on it and was wondering if anyone has had a chance to try it? I’m debating weather I should get it for PC or 360. Im finding it hard to find a comparison on screen shots and game play for some reason.

Noo. but i agree and know where your coming from. I got too much free time and visit here alot, even though its been pretty dead for a long time now. This section on gaming used to buzz all the time, and now its like five or six links and ditto. Is there some reason i do not know about why they shortened everything? I've been told that some site called 'TechIMO' is stealing most of the business. Looks alot like this forum as well. Yeah.. and life goes on

Alone in the dark seems to be loosing its' touch, it has resident evil and silent hill to keep up with, and this instalment looks rather "bleh" imo

Well I did get it and to be honest its not that bad,,the controls suck *** without a doupt and take some time to get use to, but other than that the game is worth the 50 bucks, t dont get it for PC the controls will drive u mad.

Its gotten quite a bit of hammer from a number of reviewers, however most gamers seem to be saying that theres enough inovataion and interesting ideas there to make it worth playing, theres just a boatload of bugs and issues you have to grind your teeth and get through!

Personally ive heard that both the PC and Console versions are buggy, so id basically get it for whichever is your chosen platform.

Its much easier ot put up with games with bugs then games that are just plain bad. Now thats a real tonge twister heh?

If the game is dark all the time, i might have to pass. My eyes are getting worse and worse... half my games are dark settings it seems. lol

LOL. Ya got me kind of worked up about it now. I have seen some clips and info on it, but none lately. I guess i'll look up some info .clips and whatever about the game.. Also, i tend to agree about new things. It gets tiring when new games come out and its the samo samo..all the time. Thks. for the heads up CC.

The only thing that i have heard about which puts me off is the "tree killing" section.

"Enforced Grind", along with things like quicktime events and mandatory stealth sections is really irritating me at present -- nearly ever game seems to have them and for no clear or obvious reason why, because they sure arent fun

Alone in the Dark, Alone in the Dark 2 and Alone in The Dark 3 pretty much invented the Survival horror genre, a crown that was claimed in the mid to late 90's by japanese games such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill -- AITD was very much conspicuous in its absence until around 2000 when Alone In The Dark: The New Nightmare was released, to mixed reviews. Then came an awful movie from Uwe Boll and now this attempt to rejuvinate the once classic series.

The only thing that does seem a little unfortunate is they seemed ot have radically changed the setting and transported good ol Ed Carnaby into a completely new surroundings and pretty much forgotten what it was that made the first three titles such classic ground breaking games.

It really is a shame when you see an old girl not quite getting treat with the same level of care and attention as she should be
