TweakUI Auto Logon quirk
On my (XP Pro) PC I use PowerToys TweakUI and I have enabled 'Log on automatically at system startup'. Occasionally when I reboot I still get the logon screen. And the TweakUI setting has become unchecked. Anyone have any idea why that might happen please? Never happened in 5/6 years with my last PC. Even if shut-down was in some way flawed, I'd still expect that setting to persist?

Go to your User Accounts in the Control Panel and delete the ASP.NET user account. That should solve your auto login problem.

How often is "Occasionally?"
Do you have more then one user profile you use to log into windows?

Thanks. There is indeed such a User A/C. Presumably set up by the suppliers (MESH UK) of this new XP Pro PC? I'm a bit nervous of deleting it. What are the implications of that please?

Haven't kept records, but maybe 3 times in last month.

^^^ Good information there. Explains what the ASP.NET user account is for, how it got installed, and the potential downfalls of getting rid of it.

Thanks both, will study that carefully.
