Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine

My original copy of Infernal Machine Crashes out under Windows XP.

    I am running a Pentium 4 1.8 with a 64M Nvidia Creative Geforce.

I know it ran alright before under Windows 2000 and have tried to run it using the win2000 compatability option under WinXP.

It crashes as far as i can tell whenever i push the fire button on the keyboard (Ctrl), Mostly when i am trying to fire the machine gun on repetitive fire, sometimes just pushing it once.

I have tried to change the settings, Graphics and Sound, pretty much every available combination. It actually runs well until it crashes, smoothly and everything. The crash pops up a dialog involving the 'Assert Handler'

I am halfway through and don't want to just stop, formating the system to an older version of Windows seems a bit extreme for one problem on a game.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Luis

can you give us the full 'Assert Handler' error message as you see it on the screen??

that can help us better at pinpointing what might be going on.

might be something real simple, or something real hard

    The exact error!

    As Requested.

The Crash brings up a dialog box titled 'Assert Handler' with the text

    sithCollision.c(1494): (moveDist >=((float)0.0)) && (radius >= ((float)0.0))

    inside it.

    I hope this is clear

perfectly clear. you see, there was a collision between the sith and the jedi and they moved a distance by floating but got nowhere.

    RE: The Crash

This error was actually requested by someone who seems to know about software. I suggest if you do not fall into this category then you should refrain from commenting on this forum.

Any RELEVANT suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks
