Video Card upgrade
Was thinking of upgrading my video card soon.
Then recently my system started going nuts with weird on screen mayhem when I used a certain program.
Then when I booted up my system this morning, the desktop was getting littered with weird graphical junk which quickly got horrendous, and then my screen went black (no video signal?).
When I rebooted, just going through the boot sequence the video is really screwed.
(can't really describe it).
So it's definitely hardware.
I plan on doing a test with a different monitor later, to make sure it's not the monitor that's the problem.
If it's not the monitor I will assume it's the vid card.
Which (finally) brings me to my question.
I would like to buy an 8800gt, but only have an Antec PSU Model : SP450 (450 watt).
Is this enough to properly run the card?
Some places I have read, say it's sufficient for an 8800gt.
Other places say it isn't.
I would rather not have to upgrade the power supply as well the card.
But if I have to I have to.
Any help and comments would be appreciated.
Thanks
Herhey

Stark Raving MOD
i would start by pulling out the vid card, cleaning the contacts, and reseating it.
the 450W should be ok with an 8800GT.

Thanks for your response Midknyte.
I tried as you suggested, but that card has had it.
I have a 13 year old ATI pci card I am running right now so I can use my system.
(2 megs or ram woohoo).
Definitely have to get a new card soon.
Thanks again.
