What a deal. reviews by users are very very good. At that price, i think i just might get one. Working on a deal with friend for my old Mobo and CPU, and also let him have my current video card.

Out of the 4 models @ newegg, that seems to be the slowest. For $10 more, I would get the 650mhz Core clock model from EVGA. That seems like a much better buy.

Also, if you're already in that price range, splurge a little and get the 9600 GT. It's going to be a good bit faster than the 8800GS. It also has more memory and a slightly updated architecture.

Yeah, esp. the 512 memory. I think we're now at the point in graphic production where all cards will go that route eventually. Games today like a "Crysis' or some other needs all the advantage it can get.

Always a nice and interesting discussion. Most people ( or at least gamers and the like ) have high end CPU's, and we all know where that segment of the computer industry is going. IMO, its always about the graphics.

I'm real happy as a point of note, that Nvidia who is the leader in this field today, is taking the time and listening to gamers and ALL out there and coming out with cards that perform for any budget. We now can get a card that performs at highest end scales for less then $200.00.

Whats impressive to me also is my last generation ( actaully three generations old now ) , has been put through tortuer by me in any game out, and it runs flawless, and drivers have been top notch to boot. Somebody who is in charge or its designers are earning there pay, and doing an exceptional job. LOL

Update. I've been pondering oer these cards, and for some reason tonight i thought about checking this forum link again ( sometimes i forget what i wrote or responded to ... senile? maybe? ha! )

Absolutely the best bng is that EGVA 9600GT 512 model. For $150.00 that is a steal.

Only reason i haven't gotten it already is its the middle of month, and i'm pondering over just how i want to get the monies togetehr. I will probably have to borrow half of it from my sis ( she just sold her house whoopie ! ), and pay her back, or build my friends other machine from my old parts, and he will help with the difference.

I am oh soo.. itchy. I cannot wait. this will put me up there with most higher end video junkies.

Boy, if i can play 'Crysis' on just about medium settings now and get good FPS, then i wonder how that card will do? No kidding it bumped the settings up and lost zip in FPS. I got that game dialed in to my rig excellent. You all should see this. lol
