    Dual channel not recognized

I've installed 2x Transcend 1Gb ddr2 667 memory in my mobo, Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 with the latest BIOS.

It sees the total amount of memory correctly 2 Gb, but for some reason it doesn't put it in dual channel mode, it's stuck at 64 bit mode.

I've followed the instructions and I've had dual channel mobo's before, I thought it was plug & play.

One memory is in memory slot 1 the other in slot 3, even tried slot 2 with slot 4.

Is there something I have to set in BIOS?

If it's not possible to set it in dual channel mode, how much will it effect performance?

I believe that the sticks must both be in identically colored slots - usually next to each other.

Thanks Bill, that did it, I put the RAM next to each other and now it sees it as dual channel.
