Sameo... which LCD should i get for what i can afford?

One LCD above is about the best thing i've seen as far as coming close to what i want.. Actually, its perfect. One of the lowest reponse times ,DVI plus, and of course its a reputable top end 'LG'. I also like its looks and controls..placement.
The user ratings were one of the better out of all i reviewed and looked at.

The only problem is, which is really not that big a deal, is i want to get a new LCD next month. I can realistically only afford around $200.00 and know shipping costs are going to be around $12.00 or more. Not sure about that, and would also like to know what shipping a LCD would run on avg.

Does LG put out a 19" widescreen that is almost the same as the one above? it should cost a little less..

The other models i've looked at are Viewsonic, which i was leaning towards befoer i got ahold of info on LG's, and possibly the Samsungs, althouogh i think i won't get thier models after reviews and others i've seen better.
I also recently ( lost the saved page ) ,was very set on a 20" Skeptre widescreen model, that at the time was going for closer to the $200.00 range.

Heres two of the Skeptre's i found. Right price and the 19" model got pretty good reviews. Only 700:1 C/R, and 8MS response time but gamers seem to give it a high rating.

Walk into Freddies and check out the CTL LCds.

Work good enough for me. And CTL is located in PDX.

Thanks for the thoughts guys and links... both of you's LOL

That first link for the Samsung is a good one and might even move up to the top two list.. contrast ratio and response time are excelllent..,so thats a keeper.

The Skepter 20.1" WS i linked above is fine and on sale at NewEgg for $189.00.

I might check out that CTL. Train.. thks for that.

Don't cheap out on the monitor. It is one of the things you will be using 100% of the time.

Do you need a widescreen or not?

More then likely, i think i'm going to opt for this one. 22" of shear glory and great overall reviews. Most bragged about pic. and quality as first rate.

$210.00 for a 22" widescreen LCD is terrific.

The main problem i'm having is seeing any of the LCD's up front, but have looked at the viewsonics, and a few of the Samsungs. The thing that is knawing at me is most of the 19" ones seem too small a screen. Samll point i understand, but for a one time monitor and the heart of wht i'll be seeing for a long time, this has to be right...
Another hedge possibly is that for about $50-75.00 more i could get a couple others i like even better and the better models of Viewsonic or Samsung. Most any other 22" anywhere ,regardless of maker is over $300.00. One highly rated 22" samsung is going for about $299.00.

Sorry to bore ya with these little details, but always for me its about money and not what i like or choice... I'm on a fixed income and $230.00 tops is all i can afford.

Just hooked up my new Acer 22" widesreen. Wow! have to get used to this. So far no games played yet, but it operates great, and type looks darker and clearer now. Thats good for an old coot like me... eyesight ya know.

Little by little i'm getting the pieces together... Think next i'll have to shell out for some new glasses..LOL
