    New build

A friend of mine is looking to build a new machine, He has a budget of around £400. So far we've been through Ebuyer.co.uk and priced up a the parts (doesn't need a case) and this is what we've come up with:

    processor: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124915 85.91
    motherboard: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139786 41.85
    memory: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/98710 34.98
    gfx: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132535 81.98
    hdd: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131214 36.89
    dvd: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/136070 18.84
    psu: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124927 39.07

Basically I'm asking if this is a good list or is there some alternative components you recommend

    Thanks
    Tony

That looks like it'll make a fine machine. I just built two a few weeks ago. Both AMD, one 6000, and one 6400. One on a Asus board and one on a Gigabyte board.....which is the second Gigabyte board I have used in the past. I think I'll stick with them for future builds as I really like their website update features, and ease of driver updates. Make sure the PS has enough watts for that graphics card. did you look into the 8600GT? I think it compares well with the 1950.....but I don't know which would be best. That machine should run great....don't skemp on the RAM....get the best quality and most you can afford. RAM lets the other good parts really shine.

    Good luck
