    Motherboard Upgrade Advice

I built a new puter this summer, and decided since I was not going to be gaming I neglected the mobo. I went with a cheap Gigabyte and just used the onboard video. Now I am ready to play games so I need a new board and video card, all for around $200 if possible. I have decided to go with a 7900GS for video as I think it offers the most bang for the buck ($85-$95), as well as overclocks nicely. What would your opinions be for the mobo? I want something that can overclock my e4300 to around 3.0. I am leaning toward the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L as my optical drives are ide, and I hear it overclocks the e4300 nicely. Any other suggestions?

    My current setup:

    GIGABYTE GA-945GZM-S2
    Intel Core 2 Duo E4300
    Seagate 300GB SATA
    Corsair 2GB DDR2-675
    Ultra X-Finity 600W PS

Yeah, stop dithering and buy that mobo. I tend to put as much stock in customer reviews and comments as I do professional reviewers; that mobo gets excellent feedback by Newegg buyers. Take a look - their price is pretty good too.

Thank God we're not getting all of the government we're paying for!

You would be better off spending the $200 on an 8800 GT. Your mobo already has a PCIe slot, so you'd get a lot more out of just keeping it and getting an 8800 GT than overclocking a 7900 GS.

Thanks for the help but I was wanting to overclock the mobo/cpu, not the graphics card. I went ahead and picked up a x1950 Pro for $75 shipped and will be using it instead. I was also able to overclock the board to 2.35, which may be my limit anyway with my ram/ board combo. I will try this under Crysis, but under Call Duty 4 it runs awesome.

Well you'd get better game performance out of the system with a lower overclock on the core/RAM and an 8800GT even if it's just at stock, but looks like you already made your decision.
