WMP 11 - No Video only Audio playback

    My specs:
    Windows Vista 32-bit OS

When I play movies on my laptop with WMP 11, I am unable to see any video, only audio. With Media Player Classic and any other video player, the video is visible, just not with WMP 11. I tried installing/uninstalling all of the codecs on the computer, but nothing worked. I used codec packs at first, but that didn't work, then i went to the basics and installed the individuals codecs (xvid, divx), but nothing worked!! This laptop is for my relative, so WMP 11 would be the most common and easiest program for her to use.

Anyone know what's going on with my no-video issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Does WMP 10 work?

That's what I would check first.

Sounds like a video card setting is wrong. Try setting them to defaults.

I tried to reinstall the video card drivers, but that didn't help..

Do you think it's possible to reinstall WMP 11? I can't find any uninstall options on vista for it.

Does it happen when playing DVD's or playing files because I have had that problem before when playing a DVD. Check your settings in WMP.
