looks good to me. Like i said and thats just me, but the reviews are very very positive from others who have it..so?

pandaz.. i don't have a current opinion on Asus boards but since i got this Gigabyte board ..i think i'm going to stick with them for the future. One of the best boards i'e had thus far. Rock solid. lol

Side note: Guille is obviously a fan of ATI cards so since i don't know much about them.. no comment there.

If ya want to kow what cards will do in benchmrks, comparing all cards out there, or even list the one ya are opting for, then 'Tom's HW has the charts right there.

That would be a good indicator of waht this or that does compared to another card. Thats where i go to get the very best info and anlysis. LOL

My bad. Its actually a 'Full Tower' case. Yeah.., i've had my sights on that for quite some time. Must be a good case, due to no apparent price drops. lol

How's that Acer monitor holding up? I got one of the cheaper, but still very very good ones ( a bit older ), and would buy anohter product of thiers in a heartbeat. Impressed enough to me for first WS LCD.

On topic now.. I just completed the game COD4 for the third time. TBH, i know its considered great and all that, but honestly, doesn't anyone get tired of respawning enemies? They used that method like five years ago, and it really does not add to gameplay. only frustration. One reviewer said it best and he was very mature. The graphics in some places are very good and some areas, so so. Overall nothing extrodinary. 'Stalker', which drives me crazy alot ( have not played tht for awhile ), has a bit better, but runs like snot. This game will run good on a medium end system with mid range card, and that sells. Love the high tech. onscreen little scarios and dialog. That is sweet.

By the way, yes i waited for the credits to roll, and played the little plane hostage level. Funny stuff. I tried ot play it on hard mode and got to the sniper level, and gave up knowing it would jsut be wasted time and furstration. I haven't the time nor patience for that. respawning and all.

Thanks for the info on the cards. I need start looking for a better card, asap. I'm waiting for COD4 to arrive. Found a seller on Amazon selling at a cheap price and in decent shape.

I've been playing FarCry again just for kicks. For it being a old game, it sure is addicting! Harder now since I went to the next level. But I do notice that my monitor screen on the game, tends to get darker after playing for a long time!!

I think my current card, can't handle the graphics intensity of this game. But when I stop playing for a few and restart the game. The scenery is brighter and I can see better, with out night vision...haha.

And since I'm waiting for my new 24" monitor to arrive, I need to decide soon asap. I like the 3650. But I wonder if I should look at the H.I.S. card that Fizur posted. And yeah I'm looking at Toms Hardware as well.

Darn i hate when i do that. ( write something and then forget to ost reply.) lol

I still think the 8800GTS 320MB is a great buy for what ya get. it will play all the latest games on high settingswith decent FPS, as attested to by reviewers of the card. EGVA has one plus HDVI for like $144.00. MSI's model is going for like $139.00 and is OC'ed. Huge cards they are as most all the latest out today. Both are 512MB memory also.

Well thanks for adding more confusion...haha.

Right now I'm down to the Asus 3650 & the 3870. I'm going to do more reserach tomorrow and decide. This is not fun, it's easier to choose a monitor.

Since my current ATI has been good, I think I'll stick with an ATI based card. But my first card years ago was an Nvidia on my firstt pc that I built and it worked fine. This is tough!

I Just went to NewEgg and saw a 3650 and read up on the specs, and TBH, i think your right on with that. Very nice high end specs, ( bus ,clock speeds, and other ), and the one i saw was the H.I.S. model 512 MB for $92.00. That is simply a steal with those specs. Don't know anything about HIS, but obviously they are an up and coming V.C. company. Also, if ya can, NewEgg is just about the best place around for getting any HW piece. I've never ever had one single thing i ordered from them fail or was not exactly as advertised. ( although most all my current build HW pieces i got from MWave. Also a nice dependable company to order from. ) LOL P.S. The card Fizur linked up to above has been deactivated for ref.

Besides the Egg (Not always the best price, but always the best service) there is MWave and Zip Zoom Fly and Directron. PCClub is a good place on the net or at on of their 37 retail stores. My new online find is ClubIT

I have used them all. Hard to beat the Egg, Club IT is a day or two slower, but usually cheaper (They just take a day longer to process as they are smaller) These are all in the States

I still favor the 38XX over the 36XX, I think they are worth the extra $$

I'm right now 90% on buying the Asus 3650 on NewEgg. Though I'm not a hard core gamer, I still like to play games and want decent performance. I think the 3650 will be a big jump. But I'm still considering the 3870....

But I just bought a new monitor, so I need to look at the funds aspect as well.

But I know I want to upgrade to a better PSU as well, the stock one I have I noticed isn't that powerful! So I think upgrading to a better video card and a higher PSU will really improve my system.

Most Enthusiasts are now recommending a PSU with a Large single +12V rail. like those from Corsair or PC Power & Cooling.

PSU's are a whole nother breed of cat. Both links relayed by Pandaz are very good, as is OCZ, which i have now. I am very very impressed by the one i have. The price was just short of $98.00. Double 12V rails ,SLI approved and yes it has the six pin PCIE connector.

Don't thik ya can go wrong getting that Asus card. Myself.., i just made up my mind for sure this time and am going to get a 8800GT. A bit more but i just did some research and it does indeed beat out cards like 9600GT and the ATI alternative 3870. LOL

here is a company that i made a big post on in Hard OCP, you will like the information you see.

Epower power supplies which is owned by Top Power, have their own manufacturing plant in taiwan. They are a sponsor for the Peace Love and Rockets lan events. Last month we raffled off their 950 watt power supply for the enthusiast gamer. Here is there 1050 watt PSU with 6 12volt rails each with 20A of power. The 3.3v has 28A and 5v has 28A as well. Thats a ton of power in any respect. Here is the link to the power supply from their main site. Also to note, the cost of many of their power supplies on newegg is relatively inexpensive for the overall quality of these PSU's.

    http://www.epowertec.com/zu1050w.html

For most gamers in general, 1KW psu is way more than will ever be needed, I personally use an 850Watt PSU and never have any problems at all. So the Epower version is something to marvel at. The price on newegg for this one is very affordable at only $169.99. Here is the full specifications for their 850watt.

    - Max DC Output: 850W

    - Supports the latest ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 standard

    - Auto switching circuitry provides universal AC input 110-240VAC

    - Quiet and Cool 120mm thermally controlled fan

    - Active PFC provides reliable power to your system.
