Fedup with this :(
Why oh why oh why ?
Any ideas ?

We need more details, such as what Program is doing that.
But it looks to me like the Vista Driver for that app has some
problems in the way it was coded. Check for an updated driver
for whatever it is for.

Perhaps a setting in the firewall of Vista ? ?
Or maybe a PopUp Blocker is blocking it ? ?

Murph, instead of fooling with AVG why not try Avast? It is free and much better than AVG. Just google it, get the free version and give it a shot. Works nice here. I dumped AVG long ago for it.

There's nothing wrong with AVG. On the other hand, Vista is a cluster-kcuf.

Hang on ...... I have Info from "Prof Gris"
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your email.
We have analyzed the files sent by you in details and we found that
the issue is caused by a feature in windows Vista called
"VirtualStore".
Please perform the steps below to rectify the issue:
To show the hidden folders in Windows Vista please do the following:
- Open Start -> Control Panel (or Settings -> Control Panel).
- Enable "Classic View" with the link on the right
- Open "Folder Options" and go to "View" tab
- Mark "Show hidden files and folders" and click OK
- At this stage you can also disable the "User Account Control" by
opening the "User accounts" applet and click "Turn User Account
Control on or off" -> untick "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help
protect your computer" -> click OK button and restart the computer.
- Now try to search the missing path once again.
Please, delete the following folder:
C:\Users\*********\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Prog ram
Files\Grisoft\AVG7\
Where ********* is the user name of the accounts you have created on
your computer.
As an example path:
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG7\
Please do the same for the rest of the users in the C:\Users folder.
Then, disable User Access Control feature: (if you did not disabled it
already in the first step)
You can disable/enable "User Account Control" (UAC) in Microsoft Vista
operating system this way:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> "Turn User
Account Control on or off"
If your issue persists please send us your AVG configuration and log
files. To do that:
1. Open AVG Control Center -> open "Information" menu -> select
"Technical support by e-mail".
2. Skip the new window by selecting "Next>>".
3. Enter your e-mail address in the upper field and describe your
issue in the one below. Click "Next>>" to continue the wizard.
4. Click "Send" to send us your AVG log and configuration files.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Best regards,
AVG Technical Support
Well thats easy enough then

I hope that fixed it for you. It is also nice to know, that if you are
Paid User of AVG Pro that the email support is good and in this
case, very quick response. Try getting an answer like that from
Symantec or McAfee ... not sure how good Avast would be at
responses, if any, to free users of the program. I know, AVG
free, while decent, does not give email support.

Disable User Account Control? That's bad advice because it will perpetually light up the tray security warning, making you numb to *all* security warnings.
You may as well revert to XP.

Two Vista boxes side by side, both with AVG. One has that stupid message every few days and the other never has. Annoying message perhaps, but turning off UAC is a really dumb 'solution.' I've used both AVG and Avast; I don't see much difference in efficacy. (My work box uses NOD32 - considerably more effective.)
Reverting to XP sounds better every day.

In this case, I agree with Fiji .. I stay with XP as long as possible.
