Al Gore Wins Nobel Peace Prize

OSLO, Norway - Former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Friday for their efforts to spread awareness of man-made climate change and lay the foundations for counteracting it.

We be in a lot safer world chasing imaginary greenhouse gases with Gore as prez.
Instead we're chasing imaginary terrorists and are about to start WWIII with the cheat who stole the election from Gore.

And most of the world, including the Nobel committee agree with me.
Unfortunately, Amerikans got to elect Gore and have the election stolen by criminals, who then set about destroying the planet, instead of saving it.

My, what a modest observation. I wonder if he'd have won without all of the unprecedented arm-twisting done on his behalf.

I suppose you were here in Florida when Gore tried invalidating all the overseas absentee ballots and his friends were stuffing ballot boxes in Miami? There's your cheat.
Thank God we're not getting all of the government we're paying for!

Gore is a brave man. Where he is leading l hope many more follow.
The severity of human induced climate problems remains an issue for the pending tray... but mankinds relationship with the planet is slowly taking centre stage.

Read between the lines on this whole deal. Global warming - no matter what the cause - has nothing to do with world peace. It's a scientific matter, whether real or conjectured; and if real, by man or by Mother Nature or both. If this was such a profound opus by Mr. Gore, surely it would have been worth the prize for Science?

    Apparently not.

Anyhow, I propose that Gore EARN the Peace prize, by forcing all militants to sit through the entirety of his ponderous oeuvre. Perhaps they'd be desperate enough to forsake fighting just to avoid the movie.

Is it only me that used to think that if you were awarded a Nobel prize you were a person of note ?

From now on "I" & probably many others will look upon the Nobel system as a bit of a laugh really

Interesting observation. It does seem to cheapen all of them a bit more, but that downhill slide started when Jimmy Carter and Yassir Arafat won the same prize. They didn't even do any global-warming work at all, either, did they?!
