just got me a Q6600 and my idle temps are about 63C under idle and thats with water cooling, should my temps be this high? This is stock speeds.

i reseated the waterblock onto the CPU and now my idle temps are 32c on stock speeds, that alleviates a lot of my worries.

Glad to see you answered your question... Have you tried oc'ing that quad yet? Thinking about replacing my e66's with the Q66. Took almost 11 hours the other day to render a HD image in Max. Would be nice to cut that in half...

what a crock, mine's 10 degrees hotter at 3.2. It's not stable above that, with any voltage.

funny thing is my 8800gts will NOT under any circumstances go hotter than 50 (670 core, 1900 mem), so i know my loop is good.

i may try to reseat my cpu block.

I also need to do something about my PWM's they are out of control, how's yours?

I've reseating the heatsink, with arctic silver and an 80mm fan blowing right on top of them and they'll still go over 100 C at full tilt.

PWM? Also, what size radiator are you using?

pwm = the mosfets by the cpu.

i have a swiftech 2x120mm. I'm positive that's not the issue as the gpu is later in the line but stays 15-20 C cooler.

stock my gpu would load at 85 C

    mine's 45 idle, 50 load.

makes me a happy boy, but the cpu is ticking me off big time.

well... i could even live with it, but the pwm's... now those make me angry

ya, ive thought about getting better coolers for the mosfets, but those are not easy to come across.
