unable to change folder icon with photo
Can some one explain to me why you can not change a folder in xp pro by clicking on the folder icon on the desktop, going to properties and customising it with a photograph not an icon.

You can always move the folder to My Documents (or wherever) and create a shortcut to it on the desktop. The shortcut can then be customized with your choice of icon. You will have to save the image as an ico file but there are freeware programs that can help you with that.

Easy Image Converter won't convert to ico format, which is what you will need, but it might be handy for converting to bmp which is where some icon creators like to start.

Hi, i did as you said, and put the main folder in my documents, then made a shortcut on the desktop and it worked, the shortcut was changed to a picture on the folder.
Thanks again
