I want to upgrade my current old system

I have a ana7n8x nforce2 mb motherboard with an Athlon xp 3000+ cpu (400mhz) processor and 2x 512 pc3200 ddr ram 400mhz with an ATI 128 mb Radeon 9600 TV DVI card, is it worth upgrading and if so whats the max I could do?

get a new system. the cpu is almost maxed (3200+). the industry is at DDR2 ram, going on DDR3. video cards are at PCIe instead of AGP.

They still sell DDR memory and AGP8X video cards, but even an Athlon XP 3200+ is beaten by the now old P4 3.2GHz Prescott w/HT CPU.

My system is old too (P4 3.2GHz Prescott w/HT, 1GB PC3200 RAM, GeForce 7600GS 256MB AGP8X video card, 120GB WD Caviar SE ATA-100 hard drive, Vista Home Premium), but it still has respectable performance.

I also have an Athlon XP 2200+ 1.8GHz PC with 512MB PC2100 RAM, Radeon 9600XT 256MB AGP video card, and 60GB Seagate ST360012A hard drive and it is running Vista Home Premium with acceptable speed.

Well, dacious can upgrade his OS (if he has XP) and his video card (good 256MB AGP video cards are still on the market for now).

Yeah one of my systems is oldder like Xp2800 and A7N8XE-deluxe mobo and a 128mb 9800pro but still plays COD2 on med settings sweet as.

(other pc is X264 4600 and X1900XT 512, getting on but no way would I call that over with!)

ANyway my wifes older system maybe getting a 64bit 4000 939 socket and X800GTO, yes there old but heck they are cheap now and can play games ok anytime. Ya dont need the best of the best to game these days as the techno's been made so well.
