Similar to one of the post below (DDR+DDR2)
My Uncle sent me some RAM today, it's 1GB 2Rx8 PC2 - 444 - 12 - E3. According to him, it's DDR2.
I have the ASUS A8V DELUXE mobo, on its wepage, it says...
"4 184-pin DIMM sockets
Maximum of 4GB of DDR266/333/400 SDRAM".
Will it run? What will happen if I plug it in? Nothing? Does it fit?
If it doesn't work. Is it worth a lot of money? I live in Canada, how much do you think I could sell 2 * 1 gig for?

No it will not work. DDR = 184 pin DDR2 = 240 pins
It depends on the brand and type of ram, so it's hard to say what you could sell them for.

You're missing some numbers in the middle of that string (after the PC2). It depends on the speed of the RAM (the missing numbers). Two 1GB PC4200 sticks could get CDN$50 on a good day, maybe more for faster RAM.
Thank God we're not getting all of the government we're paying for!

You'll be physically prevented from plugging it in. That's what the slot keying is for.
Any random price ranking website will tell you what a 1G kit of PC2-???? DIMMs is worth. (The speed rating is what's missing in your numbers.)
