help with buying new gaming laptop
Hi in a few months ill be off to college and i will be buying a new laptop soon. I have a decent knowledge on computers but not extensive. I want a laptop that will be able to keep up with the next-gen games that will be coming out and not be out of date in a week. I have been looking around and put together an Alienware Aurora™ m9700 with these specs:
AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML40 2.2GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache
Genuine Windows® Vista Home Premium
Alienware® NVIDIA® Mobile SLi Chipset
2GB Dual Channel DDR SO-DIMM at 400MHz - 2 x 1024MB
160GB (80GB x 2) Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s 5,400 RPM w/ NCQ & 8MB Cache (RAID 0)
24x DVD-ROM/CD-RW Burner w/ Nero Software
Dual 256MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS - SLI Enabled
Internal 802.11b/g WiFi Card
WideXGA+ 1440 x 900 LCD with Clearview Technology
High-Definition Audio with surround sound
Integrated 10/1000Mb Gigabit Ethernet & 56K V.92 Modem
total: 2,466$

So does this look like a good system that will last a while for a good price? If not or if there is something better for the same price range (trying to stay around or under 2,500) what do recomend? I looked at m-tech and dell xps laptops and they didnt seem an par with this. like i said though, Im not the smartest when it comes to computers i just know the basics.

that is an awesome system. One of the best systems that can be bought for a laptop. And the price looks pretty attractive too.
I'd say go for it.
