    question on selling a laptop on ebay

    I just purchased a new laptop, so now>

    I have a dell that I bought about 8 months ago and I have all the recovery software for it and just wanted to know how should one sell a laptop that has your info on it to someone you don't know , should I reformat the drive or can I just remove everything manually so I don't have to install everything all over again ,

    Use DBAN to perform a DOD wipe of the drive. Then send the laptop out with all the software for the new user to install themselves.

    Your data will be erased.
