    Wireless Network

I have my wireless network setup:
1 - laptop RF WinXP, Admin rights
1 - Desktop RF IE7, Avant, WinXP Pro, Admin rights
1 - Desktop Lan WinXP Pro, Fire Fox, Admin rights
    Belkin G Rrt
    Vonage VoIP
    Broadband Mod

Everything worked fine with the Rtr wide open; pulled web pages with no problem on RF Desktop. I set the WEP key on the rtr and the RF machines. RF Desktop connect to the Rtr but times out when when trying to pull web pages. IP configed and everything looked good. Deleted cookies and offline files and reset IE to default settings under security tab but still unable to pull web pages. Pwr cyc Mod and Rtr a couple times with no luck. Disabled Security on Rtr and pulling web pages fine now. I've set up lots of home networks and followed the same procedure I always do; leave Rtr open and verify connectivity and then turn on securities and set Keys on RF machines and usually it takes right off. Is there anything special you have to do with IE7 or has anyone had any problems with IE7 and wireless networks?? I tried using Avant and it also timed out; which makes me think it's not an issue with IE7.

    Thanks for your help guys.

What is all this RF, rtr, Rtr, cyc, etc?

If you can't talk English, then don't expect an answer.

My fault; short hand I picked up from working at the cable company.

RF - Radio Frequency we used that to represent wireless.
Pwr Cyc - Power Cycle; meaning turned the power off and on.
Rtr same as rtr - Router

Are the cards from the same manufacturer as the router or are they all different?

What kind of security are you trying to use? Start with WEP and work your way up. The network will only work with the lowest common security method supported.

Check the wireless drivers. Are they the latest versions?

Try resetting the router (using the reset button). If that doesn't work, return the router.

When you lose the connection due to WEP can you log to the Wireless Router through the Wirelss computer?

The cards are all different from the router; Linksys card in desktop, Built in card on Dell laptop and the router is a Belkin.

I started with WEP 64bit and couldn't connect once it was enabled.

I didn't try talking to the router, I will try that tonight. I ran an ipconfig and checked disconnected and reconnected to the router through "view available wireless networks"

How about trying an "ipconfig /flushdns" or /relase and /renew?
