    Win XP Problem

    When starting the computer, the boot process is ok until, at the end, the only thing on the desktop is the picture, no icons, task bar, nothing. I've rebooted in safe mode, and everything is there. Suggestions to fix?

    Is all of your Anti-virus and spyware up to date, if it is try running it in safe mode.

    If the scan comes back clean...sounds like an explorer.exe problem.
    I have had it happen,not on boot, but mainly when a program that will not close is ended via END NOW...the after the programs ends everything is gone on the desktop for a few seconds...looked at the error log and and explorer.exe shows up.
    I would suggest that you reboot if there is no virus, into safe mode and check the error log..should show something there as Windows did not start correctly..ie..error
    If that is indeed the problem try a repair

    Well, ran 3 different virus/adware scans on both log in accounts. Cleared up a bunch of stuff, but did not fix problem. Will be checking error log.
