    Is there any freeware application to convert WMA files to MP3 files.

    If they're not DMA WMAs, iTunes will do it.

    Try Goldwave ( www.goldwave.com ) It costs to use full capability, but can be used free, I think, with a generous number of commands and a startup popup encouraging you to buy it. It is a great recording/editing program, and can capture streaming audio, too.
