No A:, dos boot from CD
Dell 4600, P4, 2.8 GHz, XP SP2, 768 MB Ram, 31,000 free MB/76,000 MB total on C: drive.
No A: floppy, USB floppy as B:, External USB Maxtor 30 GB HDD as J:
Trying to diagnose the J: HDD in DOS and fix the boot virus (Form virus).
Can't boot from A: so I must boot from my CD. Place my DOS files on a CD, make it Bootable and try to boot from CD.
It boots from CD but somehow it ends up running Caldera Dr-Dos which is not on that CD.
I need to slow down the booting process so I can see the error messages that is on the scrolling screen during boot.
1. Where is DR-Dos comming from? Could it be from previous boot CDs that I loaded with Maxtor diagnostic programs? Is it in HIMEM and always runs because of errors in my latest Boot CD?

Check in the BIOS:

Or press F12 when select boot menu is onscreen.
