temperatures ?

OK my computer has a thing that tells you the temperature of the CPU and the ambiant temperature. It says that the CPU core temperature is 51 degrees Celcius(which is about 123 degrees Fahrenheit) It also says that the ambient temperature is 37 degrees Celcius (which is about 98 degrees). So I am wondering if that is normal or if that is too hot.

I believe the core temp is taken froma diode on the cpu and is usually higher, while the temp taken from the diode on the motherboard is usually a little lower.

I believe those temps sound about average. Mostly it'll depend on what processor you have. Different processors have a dfferent base temp at which they operate at and what temperature they can withstand continuously. If you're not overclocking or you have a prebuilt machine, you needn't worry about your temps too much. Stock fans(or heatsinks) will usually provide adequate cooling under normal use.

The monitor is there for the very same thing it is for in your car. If you see it go up from where it normally sits at, find out why. Cpu fans do wear out, so will case fans. Some quicker than others.

Course if you posted what processor you have, someone may know right off the top of thier head. But then you gotta hope that person kinda nice!
