    IRQ conflicts??

    I have a soltek motherboard wich gave me 100 problems but this 1 got on my nerves bc i couldnt fix it, i got a new firewire card (pyro pci64), and when i plug it in my sound card stops working, i ahve try switchin slots what i havent try is in touchin the BIOS because i dnt knw how to touch it in this case.

    IRQ conflicts are an urban myth. By all means leave the BIOS alone

    What you need to pursue is driver updates, in particular sound card driver updates - even more so if that's a Creative card.

    IRQ conflicts STOPPED being an issue with Win95. Unistall the sound card in device manager. Remove the sound car and boot into Windows. Shut down and install the sound card again. Bot again.

    Actually, IRQ conflicts ceased existing with the disappearance of non-PnP ISA cards. That's been roundabout 1994. (And yes, even Windows 3.1 did do shared PCI interrupts correctly.)
    The only way to get an actual IRQ conflict is to screw around with settings manually - exactly what people are advised to do when someone /thinks/ they have an IRQ conflict
