    Roaming connections With XP pro

    Hello,
I've have XP pro on my laptop. I like the feature of connecting to internet with what ever wireless router is available in the area. Such as the library or school. My other laptop which has WinME on it doesn't recognize any of these connections when laptop is in different location. My questions is this......Can I upgrade to WinXP home edition on this laptop and get these various internet connections like I do on my XP Pro laptop? XP Pro is a lot more expensive than home edition. Any help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Don

WinME will work if you have a wireless adapter in the laptop. Just download the appropriate driver and they should have the network connection tool included.

Some original Utilities that come with Wireless cards have the capacity to work similarly to the WinXP WZC. I.e. they load at startup, and provide a tray icon that can expand and show available Networks. Log to the support site of the Brand that made your card and search for available utility.

However, if the laptop can take WinXP Home upgrade.

WinME is a “lame duck” when it comes to Network/Internet.

If you search well you would find legitimate upgraded to WinXP Home for as little as $50.
