burned image in laptop
i just got a new dv1000t by hp. I have the brightview display and i closed the laptop while i went to work, and now there is an image burnt into the display. is there any type of whitewash program that can be run like on plasma tvs for this? i thought this was an LCD and images didnt retain. any help would be cool on getting this image off. it is faint, but you can see it on a light colored background. thanks

Mod w/ an attitude
There is none that I have heard from.
I am glad I have my screen power management set to 15 mins. before it turns off. I leave my laptop on 24/7 but since it turns the screen off when I close the lid, I never have any problems like this.
If you want to replace the LCD screen, it will be at least $100 for a used one on ebay if you can find it.

Unlike plasma "burn ins", LCD "image persistence", will heal. I remember reading that they heal more quickly if left with a pure white screen.
