    Travan 40 recognise as qic-157

Looking for help with this on.

Server running 2003 server. Using Tapeware backup software. Windows is reporting the tbu as a QIC-157. From researching on the web the only thing i can find is on the microsoft website, solution is installing SP1. However owner has this installed already. Server is a PE 600SC.

    Any advice would be greatful

Does the drive work and backup the server?

If yes, then don't worry about the name. If no, then uninstall and reinstall the driver and tape bacup software. Also check for viruses and spyware.

Travan formats are variations on miniQIC format. Wider and longer tape, but it's still essentially miniQIC, and might actually still have a QIC-xxx format moniker to it.

Like Sterling_Aug said, if it works, don't bother.
