As is gas prices weren't high enough...

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/

    A few summary excerpts:

Indefinite closure removes 8 percent of U.S. production, raises price fears
BP says Prudhoe Bay pipeline could be closed for months for repairs
Light, sweet crude oil rose $1.59 to $76.35 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange
Once the field is shut down, BP said oil production will be reduced by 400,000 barrels a day. That’s close to 8 percent of U.S. oil production or about 2.6 percent of U.S. supply including imports, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
I just topped off my tank at $2.95/gallon, cost me about 48 bucks...wonder what it'll cost the next time I need to fill up...

Hey, those oil robber barons don't need an excuse. Glad I already filled this week. However, next time will prolly bankrupt me. I just don't know how that Exxon/Mobil exec will ever live on $400million a year in retirement. Poor bastage.

A copuple of Oil companies posted the highest revenues they have ever had. I think it was Exxon that posted the second highest ever quarterly eartnings for a US company at close to 30 billion. Dutch Royal Shell posted almost 8 billion in profit.

I think the paper said this is "raising concerns" of price gouging. Never said anyone was looking inot it though.
