    Updates don't work?

    For the last 3 or 4 months, my updates (Mcafee and a few other updates just time out stating connection not found). But my Outlook and IE work just fine. Any suggestions on what to look for to get my updates to work? I first thought it was my Mcafee and then uninstalled it and put on Norton. Same problem, would not update. To make 100 percent sure, I uninstalled Norton and put on Pest Patrol and EZArmor. Same problem, so I don't think it is software. I'm running Windows 2000 any thoughts?

    You have been bitten by a bug of some kind. Your HOST file may be corrupt and blocking the updates, or you may have a virus/spyware with a process running to block the updates.

    Start by installing AdWare Away and run it TWICE in Safe Mode with a reboot in between passes.
