    GIS software wanted

    I'm looking for a freeware/shareware GIS product that can be used to link a database (or flat file) to a polygon map for color coding of polygons on the map.


    Any suggestions on finding a boundary layer showing the political town boundaries for New Hampshire (USA) towns I would be very pleased.

    I'm looking for the capacity to take a 2-d shapefile (map of New Hampshire with towns) and color the polygons (representing towns) based upon a flat file.

    Has anyone been successful doing this with GRASS, or OpenEV? How about any other products?
