at a loss, unable to connect wireless

I bought a laptop and a netgear router Netgear WGR614 v6, and set it up per the instructions. All worked well until about week ago, when I was unable to get on the internet or email even though I was connected. My desktop using the same dsl line worked fine.

I tried the repair connection option, no change, I disabled "automatic wirless network configuration" now I am unable to enable it... I powered down all systems, including router and modem. No change.

I am able to log onto other wireless networks, just not my own.

    Where do I begin?

    I know nothing about networking.

Reset the router according to instructions and then use the D-Link utility to try again.
