I just bought myself an iPod video, (their nuthin special IMO) anyhoo I was just curious if anyone knows if it is possible to get more games for it (i know it not a gamin machine or nuthin) but at least a couple more card games or somethin of the sort. And does anyone know how to change the background color or any of the colors on screen at that. I know it's possible a guy a i work with his back ground is black and font is blue, but he can't remeber how he did it, anyhoo..

Novus plastic polish will take care of the scratches...at least on the front. But yeah, get yourself a case. I don't know about other games, but I know the nice thing about them is that they can play video and are small (sure the battery life is short but you can get an external pack)

I HEARD the Lyra's are returned alot, though I don't know how true that statement is. I have a Zen Micro 5gb MP3 player and it is very nice. I would put it past iPod any day. Also there's a new one, a Zen Neon http://creative.com/products/mp3/zenneeon/ looks pretty sweet...

I've got an iPod 5G, and I love it. Small, sleak and plays videos. As per the bad battery life, just get a car charger and charge it while you're not using it. The scratches are easily remedied by getting a nice silicone case and a screen protector from Best Buy or the Apple/iPod Store. My sister owns a Zen Micro 5GB as well, and they're also very nice. Very small, and surprisingly good quality. If it were between an iPod Nano and a Zen Micro, I'd probably go with the Zen Micro. But for what I wanted out of it, the iPod 5G is perfect.

Now as for games... search the forums a little and you'll see that people have posted stuff on games that have been modified to play on an iPod, such as Half-Life and Doom. There's also a Linux OS that has been modified to work for the older iPods, and even though it's not officially supported it will work on the newer iPods as well.

Just remember that doing this will probably void your warrenty, but you don't have to worry about ruining your iPod. If anything happens to your iPod, Apple has a restore tool that will format your iPod and return it to factory default.

First you'd have to install iPodLinux on your iPod:

And here's a link for iDoom, which you'll have to have for any other game you play:

Here's a page that's got some links to a bunch of others games that run on iPodLinux:

I used to have an RCA lyra2780, great mp3/video/photo/audible player i got about 3-4hour video playback on it but found it to be a little too big for listening while walking or biking (it's about the size of a full size harddrive) If rca made another lyra a/v jukebox and made it smaller i'd buy it in a second
