the x300 mobile or desktop sucks.
you'd need to go to the dell configurator to see what is available. if anything, the xps series would have replaceable video cards.

I just turned in my Dell Latitude D810 w/ 1.7 and X300 last week. Sucks for just about any game. Just got the same with the a 2.13 and X600. Good enough to play Halo, thats about it.

X300 specs
The Mobility Radeon X300 is a 4 pixel pipe chip, and although the writer of the article Midknyte linked to cautions against this, I think it's performance is comparable to the chip it evolved from, the Radeon 9600 series.
My wife has a Thinkpad T43 with a MR X300, and it is OK to play the kind of games she likes, such as Uru or Myst 4. However, I wouldn't recommend it for major gaming.
One thing that you may want to research is how many PCI express lanes the laptop's GPU uses. I assumed that the MR X300 in the TP T43 was a PCI Express X16 part, but when I ran some diagnostics (can't remember which at the moment), they indicated that the GPU was PCI Express X1. It makes sense for a laptop, but it means that the Mobility Radeon part is going to have less performance than it's PCI Express X16 card counterpart.
If you want, I can run those diags again, and let you know what they are and what they said.

I did some testing/benchmarks for desktop at work... the X300 didn't offer much more then Intel's integrated GMA900 graphics (i915G chipset). So, i'd be willing to bet that it won't offer you much in terms of gaming performance.
Dell, Toshiba and others all make notebooks with gaming performance in mind...

while I've never heard of that company, I must say, those are some sleek looking notebooks (not to mention they're pretty good for the money)
I'll give that site a thumbs up.
