Nice card huh? My thing is always the same. Sure i would love to have some higher end card, but truthfully I am practical and not rich also like you stated.

Performance wise for all you get in shader and updated specs and bus speeds, these cards play any game out with gorgeous graphics, and very decent if not high FPS,with most settings on high. What more can one ask for really, at a low cost, which has gotten lower still since i bought my card a few months ago.

I bet your eyes just about popped out of your head when you saw what that card is over previous i bet.

I just won't spend , much over $200.00 for any card. If yas got the dough to flaunt then go ahead and fork over over $500.00,but i just think its a huge waste of money. LOL

I can never bring myself to pay full price for a gfx card either.
Ebay is the secret man... I scored this card for 93 bucks and it came with Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, which I didn't play yet . Has all retail parts too, and the retail box. NOBODY was watching the auction either, thats why I put it in my sights. Zero bids on it till the end when I jumped on it.

    Unhappy '06 Troubles

I would love to bench my system, but.. I'm running Vista x64. 3DMark06 doesn't seem to like 64-bit Vista so it keep giving me an error every time I try to run it. D:

Any tips or should I give up and dual-boot?

    Specs:
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5Ghz, 6MB L2, 1333MHz FSB
    6GB DDR2-667MHz PC2-5300 DC
    640GB 7,200RPM SATA 16MB cache
    Evga 9800GT 512MB
    Vista Home Premium x64

Though it gets P4780 or 4780p... however the score goes in Vantage.

I had no problem running it on my Vista 64 bit, try removing it and reinstalling it.

My CPU, Chipset is bottlenecking me on the 3DMark stuff, games are running as they should though.

Mine was too. I tried putting a GTS 250 in an Athlon 64 X2 5600 and it bottlenecked, then I tried a new build with an AM3 Athlon II 435 Rana... it still seemed to bottleneck, I don't know how, really, cause the 435 seemed like a decent chip. Then I found out the GTS 250 isn't what I wanted, so I overhauled the GFX and the CPU to what's in my sig now.

Card is coming tomorrow. Eager to benchmark it.

It did really well in 3DMark 2003, but 2005 and 2006 should have been a lot higher.

Not planning on building a new machine anytime soon as my games are running extremely fast and Folding @ Home is running great on it.

I'm just kinda interested to see how this goes. It's my first build with ATI. But everything I read on that card pretty much put it at the top so I went for it.

[edit] saw your bench under 2003. You have the 5850 now? What did it score even with the bottleneck?
