    Cable Router

    Siemens Speedstram 2602

ISP had problems a week or so ago, but now reportedly repaired. I can now connect to Internet with cable router removed from loop. This is direct connect to cable modem.

When I reconnect, reset, or do anything at all with cable router, I don't get through.

I have reviewed cable router manual, and tried all the suggestions, but nothing works. The cable router lights are all on like if I am connected, but it does not connect.

Any ideas on how to determine if my ISP is not recognizing my cable router, or if the cable router has just gone bad?

My next call is to the ISP, but I figured you guys might beat them to it.

Might be a change in authentication (password).

Try to Clone the MAC of the computer that work directly with the modem to the Router ( How to Fix Cable/DSL Internet authentication (password). )

    Thanks for the tip.

Coincidentally, or not, 15 minutes after I contacted an ISP representative and spoke in person, the internet connection began working. It has been working through the cable router ever since.

    Thanks.

Sound like they reset the modem or the IP address.
