    Weird Bootup Problem

I have a weird problem and am hoping someone here can help me figure out what is causing it. I turn my computer off at night and then turn it on when I get home from work. When I press the power button, the computer boots up to the Abit screen where you can press "tab" to go to some screen or "delete" to go to the bios. Well for some reason I have to hit the tab button on this screen everytime it boots and then it goes and detects the hard drives. If I don't hit the tab button it will just sit there on that screen. The weird part is, I have to hit the tab button really quick or it won't work either. Anyone have any idea why my pc won't bootup properly and why I have to hit the tab button everytime? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There must be a function in the BIOS turned on that should be turned off.

I don't have any Abit machines anymore so I can't give you specific things to check.

Probably a bad battery... how long have you owned this computer?

I'm thinking dead cmos battery as well. It looses all the bios presets after the power is turned off and a checksum error occures during the next power up. Probably a Cr-2032 lithium battery available at your local rat shack.
