Question about OEM Software. (XP Pro)
Are you able to use an OEM version of Windows XP on more than one computer legally? If you own all the computers and they are all located in your home. Will I be able to use windows update and anything else that requires the CD Key on all the computers or just one?

No, simple as that, legally.
You have to have a sticker per machine. Used to be you could find just stickers for sale but M$ did away with that a year or so ago.
Sorry, wish the answer was differant, it would be cheaper.

Mod w/ an attitude
Try Linux if you want free software, unfortunately, it won't be very easy for you to learn how to use any of the Linux apps.

I still have red hat from years ago(5 years), probably outdated. I didn't use it much as I drifted away from coding. I'm also not looking for free software, I just wanted to know if I could use my OEM XP on more than one system. It was cheap anyway, not a big loss. I'll just give it away to someone who doesn't need to use it on multiple pc's.
If I bought retail XP I'd be able to use it on all my computers then?

You need to buy one copy of Windows for every pc. You can not install any version of Windows on more than one PC without special licensing.
5 PCs = 5 Copies of Windows (5 CD Keys/unique licenses)

Or if you have the dough, get a enterprise license.
