    Lost files

big BIG problem! After I installed this theme
    http://en.crystalxp.net/bricopack-vista-inspirat.php

all my wallpapers and digital camera pictures are nowhere to be found... I searched for all the pictures on my C: in "search" and couldn't find them. Is there a way to retrieve these files? My mom is going to kill me if I tell her the pictures are gone, because she had group pics with friends and family in there.

    p.s

    These pictures were in...

    Documents > My pictures

Any help would be so appreciated!

According to that web page, you could just uninstall back to the way it
was before .. it does not say that you should lose your photos or anything
else by installing the app (however, since it is not in 100% english, it is hard
to tell exactly what is what)

how about running a "system restore" to a point previous to the installation?

That should put files back to where they were.

Hey Strawbs: That assumes that Phil even has system restore points turn on.

Here is a free program for restoring deleted files, as well as a deleted file shredder

    http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html

Simply type in the file extention [.jpg .bit whatever] and it will show you a list of all deleted files and partials. If they haven't been over-written you can recover them
Easy to use, although it will only recover 1 file at a time.

    Good luck

edit: sorry trucker, overlook your post

The write-ups I read said that it would create a restore point at the time of install, just figured it might be something Phil hadn't thought about or maybe realised.

Besides which - It's always good practice to keep system restore switched on for the primary drive - even if you disable it for others IMO.

But Yeah! I assumed before knowing.
